Movers for Mutts®
For over ten years -the past seven with myself at the helm, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron has partnered with local shelters, schools and businesses to collect donations that benefit area shelters The Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) and One of A Kind Pets. This donation drive is known as Movers for Mutts®, below are some highlights from past years events as well as donation statistics.
In 2021 our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron franchise was able to collect over 1,200 in donations and $945.00 dollars for the shelter. All proceeds benefited the HSSC.
In the seven years I have been the head of franchise marketing, we have collected over ten thousand donations and over $,9000.00 dollars in our Movers for Mutts® drive. Compared with the other 400 international locations, and our median market status, that puts our Akron franchise in the top 92% of both donations collected and community reach.

A Year-Round Partnership
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron is there for our friends at the HSSC even if it's not Movers for Mutts® Season. One call to me and we are there with a truck hauling food, litter, cages -you name it, we are always there to help. It's an awesome way to give back and to put on display our 'Movers Who Care®' attitude.
Bark at the Park
Every Summer as a way to find business drop off location sponsors, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron partners with, and sponsors, a photo booth during downtown Akron's 'Bark at the Park' at Lock 3. This is always a fun event to get the ball rolling right into Movers for Mutts® season. Adults, Kiddos and Doggos alike love the event. All proceeds from this event, again, go towards the HSSC.
Movers for Mutts® Cardboard Creations
Another thing I love incorporating into our annual Movers for Mutts® drive is my famous cardboard creations. From cat hammocks to full on kitty cat play castles, almost anything can be built with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Akron moving boxes. Annual Kick off event
